Level 4 · Standard 4

Future Tech Engineer

Think, code and engineer.

The level where students stop following instructions and start designing. They program, automate, meet artificial intelligence honestly - what it can do and where it is wrong - and take a project of their own through to a competition.

Introduction to AI Programming logic Competition projects For Standard 4
A Level 4 student working with AI on a laptop beside a robot

Course overview

Future Tech Engineer brings the three strands together: code, electronics and design thinking. Students write longer programs, automate a machine so it reacts on its own, and get a first, honest look at artificial intelligence - how a model learns from examples, what it is useful for, and the kind of mistake it makes.

The year is built around one real project. Students choose a problem, design a solution, build it, test it with other children, improve it, and present it - the loop that every engineer actually works in.

Small hands… big ideas!

By the end of the level
  • Write and structure a longer program
  • Automate a machine so it responds by itself
  • Understand how an AI model learns, and where it fails
  • Design, test and improve a project of your own
  • Present and compete with a finished build
Age-appropriate

Written for this standard, not shrunk down from an older class.

Expert mentors

Trainers who teach children this age every day.

Certificate

A completion certificate at the end of the level.

Clear progression

Each level leads into the next, year after year.

What your child learns

  • 01Programming logic

    Longer programs, structured and readable.

  • 02Introduction to AI

How machines learn from examples, explained simply.

  • 03Automation

Sensors plus logic, so the machine decides.

  • 04Design thinking

    Problem, idea, prototype, test, improve.

  • 05Using technology responsibly

What to share, what to check, what to question.

  • 06Competitions

Preparing a project to be judged and demonstrated.

How the Esanskar 5C™ Method shows up at this level

1st CCuriosity

"Why?" and "What if?" are welcome questions.

2nd CCreativity

Ideas turn into models they can hold.

3rd CCoding

Sequence and order, taught with cards and actions.

4th CCreation

Building, testing and trying again.

5th CConfidence

"I made this" — said out loud, every week.

The learning journey

  1. Engineering thinking

Define the problem before building the answer.

  2. Programming

    Structure, logic and reusable steps.

  3. Automation

Sensors and conditions working without a hand on it.

  4. Meet AI

How it learns, what it gets wrong, how to use it well.

  5. Final project

    Designed, built, tested, presented, entered.
