Level 3 · Standard 3

Future Tech Builder

Build what you imagine.

This is the year the robot gets built. Children assemble a working machine from a kit, program it with loops and conditions, fix it when it misbehaves, and finish with a project they can demonstrate to anyone.

Build a real robot Loops & conditions STEM projects For Standard 3
A Level 3 student building a robot car

Course overview

Future Tech Builder is hands-deep. Students assemble a robot from parts - chassis, motors, wires, sensors - and make it move the way they intend. The coding grows with it: loops so a step repeats, conditions so the robot decides, and a plan written before the first block is dragged.

Things break at this level, deliberately. Debugging a robot that turns the wrong way is where engineering actually starts, and the trainer's job is to ask the next question rather than fix it for them.

Small hands… big ideas!

By the end of the level
  • Assemble a working robot from a kit
  • Wire motors, sensors and a controller safely
  • Code with loops, conditions and events
  • Find and fix a fault without giving up
  • Finish and demonstrate a real project
Age-appropriate

Written for this standard, not shrunk down from an older class.

Expert mentors

Trainers who teach children this age every day.

Certificate

A completion certificate at the end of the level.

Clear progression

Each level leads into the next, year after year.

What your child learns

  • 01Robot building

Chassis, motors, wires and sensors, assembled by hand.

  • 02Logical coding

Loops, conditions and events that make it think.

  • 03Electronics basics

LED, buzzer and motor driver, connected correctly.

  • 04Debugging

Why it did that, and what to change.

  • 05STEM projects

Science and maths used for a real build.

  • 06Showcase

Presenting a project that works in front of people.

How the Esanskar 5C™ Method shows up at this level

1st CCuriosity

"Why?" and "What if?" are welcome questions.

2nd CCreativity

Ideas turn into models they can hold.

3rd CCoding

Sequence and order, taught with cards and actions.

4th CCreation

Building, testing and trying again.

5th CConfidence

"I made this" — said out loud, every week.

The learning journey

  1. Plan the build

What it should do, before anything is wired.

  2. Assemble

Chassis, motors and wiring, step by step.

  3. Program it

    Loops, conditions and sensor input.

  4. Test & fix

Find the fault, change one thing, try again.

  5. Builder project

A finished robot, demonstrated and explained.
